Graduate Degree Programs

Our graduate programs are designed to provide advanced training in mining and explosives engineering to our students.  The non-thesis Master of Science in Mining Engineering Distance Education Program and the Graduate Certificate program are structured for those currently working in a mining or mining-related industry. We offer similar non-thesis Master of Science and Graduate Certificates in Explosives Engineering for those working in explosives related fields in government, law enforcement, blasting, and research. All courses offered in these options are available online. We offer Master of Science (with and without thesis options) degrees in Mining and Explosives Engineering for on-campus students. We also offer PhD degrees in Mining and Explosives Engineering. Additionally, we offer a Doctorate in Engineering degree in mining engineering for those seeking doctoral level studies with close industry collaboration. The Master of Science and the PhD in Explosives Engineering are the only explosives graduate degrees available in the United States.

Our research-based students work closely with world-renowned professors to develop new and exciting technologies for the mining and explosives industries at our research laboratories and through field research.
