National Stone, Sand, and Gravel Association
NSSGA is the largest Mining/Materials Association by production tonnage, with member companies that produce over 90% of crushed stone and pulverized minerals used annually in the USA. These materials are used in construction projects, products, and processes such as: roads, bridges, buildings, railways, airports, paint, pharmaceuticals, foods, cleaners, papers, cosmetics, erosion control, slope protection, flue gas desulfurization, and water filtration and purification. It is estimated that every American uses approximately 10 tons of aggregate products each year. Being a student member of NSSGA has many benefits; including industry specific education (guest speakers, presentations, trips to quarries, mills, plants, conventions), social events (bowling, shooting, floating, BBQ’s), networking opportunities (industry nights, national companies, MS&T Alumni, internships, post grad jobs), and access to specialty scholarships (NSSGA, IAAP, more). In March 2014 seven members attended the 2014 Con/AGG Expo in Las Vegas, NV. This is the largest event/conference of this kind in the world and is held every three years in Las Vegas, NV.
